In this tutorial you will learn how to make this transformation:
First Step: Open up photoshop and your picture, zoom in to your picture at about 400%. You do this so that your picture colorization looks real and precise. Now grab your polygon tool and outline what you want to colorize. Once you have your object outlined, right click your image and select Layer via Copy. Now with the layer you have just made go to blending options, and select color overlay/gradient overlay, either one works. But I'm doing color. So select the color/gradient you want and make the blending mode 'COLOR'. Then press okay. Your final product should look like
